HEAD COACH RESUME:
Head Coach Steve Proefrock joined the Kellogg men’s basketball staff in 2022 with extensive collegiate coaching experience. Having coached in the NJCAA and all Divisions of the NCAA, Coach Proefrock has over 300 collegiate wins and has been apart of several championship teams. Most recently at the junior college level, Steve saw success with four seasons ending in Conference Championships, earning him several coaching honors including Junior College Coach of the Year from the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan.
In his first three years with our KCC men’s program, Coach Pro has led the Bruins to two post season appearances and a 20+ win season which was the most the program had achieved in over 10 years. The last two seasons combined have been the winningest stretch of basketball for our men’s program in over a decade.
Coach Proefrock said, “I am honored to be part of Kellogg Community College and its rich history of success. This year should be an exciting year for Bruin basketball as we have a very good mix of returners, transfers, and talented freshman. Both on and off the court we will represent Kellogg Community College as true student athletes and make the Kellogg family proud of our accomplishments!”
Coach Proefrock is a Professor of History and Physical Education at Glen Oaks Community College and earned his master’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University, and a bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University. Coach Proefrock has a son Parker, who is enrolled in the Three Rivers School system. Coach Proefrock was born and raised in Reed City, Michigan and his parents’ names are Art and Mary Lou Proefrock.
